The anchovy, the true emblem of our small Catalan port, will once again take center stage during the Anchovy Festival in Collioure on Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th. We invite you to discover this unique celebration combining gastronomy, tradition, and conviviality in a festive atmosphere along the Mediterranean shore. The program for this exceptional weekend features a gourmet market, Catalan culture, tasty tastings, maritime festivities, and culinary demonstrations.
This year's major addition will delight food lovers: wine officially joins the festival to perfectly pair with our famous anchovy, highlighting the ideal alliance between sea and land. Furthermore, to close Saturday's events in style, a grand fireworks display will be launched for the very first time in the bay of Collioure at 10:30 PM, offering a magical and unforgettable moment.
Saturday's events begin from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the opening of the gourmet local market at the harbor, held in the presence of the famous historical anchovy producers Roque and Desclaux. Throughout the day, you can enjoy a memorable ride aboard our famous Catalan boats. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, children can enjoy the "Moov Toi" inflatable games located at Place Maréchal Leclerc. At 10:45 AM, do not miss the grand crew parade departing from Place Leclerc toward the harbor, accompanied by the lively rhythms of the Banda Lous Pegaillouns.
The official opening of the Anchovy Festival and official speeches will take place at 11:00 AM at the harbor. Starting at 11:15 AM, the marching band music intensifies with Les Bizzar’s de Collioure, followed at 11:30 AM by a cooking demonstration centered around anchovies at Sota L’Om. At the same time, the Banda Lous Pegaillouns will start playing through the streets. The afternoon features the parade of the Colla Gégantera d’Elna starting at 3:00 PM at Place du 18 Juin and Boramar, followed at 5:00 PM by traditional Catalan singing from the Campanar Sardanista choir. At 6:00 PM, music returns to the harbor with the Banda Lous Pegaillouns. The evening continues at 7:00 PM at Esplanade du Faubourg for the Grand Anchovy Evening and its Apéro-Guinguette (catering by the Aviron Club de Collioure), followed at 9:00 PM by a set from DJ MIQA at the harbor, at 9:30 PM by a concert from the band Tequila at the Faubourg, and finally at 10:30 PM by the Grand Fireworks display in the bay.
On Sunday, June 7th, the festivities move primarily to the Esplanade François Bernadi. From 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, you will find the gourmet local market once again with anchovy producers Roque and Desclaux to extend your tastings. Out on the water, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the bay of Collioure will host the spectacular Traditional Rowing Regatta, featuring the traditional llaguts de rems boats.
Music starts again at 11:00 AM with Lous Pegaillouns, running alongside another culinary demonstration focused on anchovies. The afternoon will honor Catalan culture with the impressive human towers of the Castellers Del Riberal, performing at 2:30 PM at Place du 18 Juin and then at 3:30 PM at Esplanade François Bernadi. At 3:00 PM, the Banda Cobla Sol de Banyuls will provide the musical entertainment, followed at 4:00 PM by a final festive parade with the Colla Gégantera d’Elna.
